I-Ready Top Students for November/December
The i-Ready logo features three cartoon characters and a colorful cube.
Ross Students Passed 1,941 Lessons in November/December!
5th graders passed 1,015 lessons. 4th graders passed 926 lessons.

Our top students for the holiday months are:
  • Logan A, 31 lessons
  • Taisley S, 22 lessons
  • EJae A, 20 lessons
  • Mason B, 20 lessons
  • Domenik G, 20 lessons
  • Calvin F, 19 lessons
  • Tyler L, 19 lessons
  • Raegan B, 18 lesson
  • Vaughn B, 18 lessons

We love seeing students go all in on I-Ready lessons as their pathways give them exactly what THEY need on their Math journey. We aim for all our students to grow 1 or more years in Math, and I-Ready is part of what helps them get there.

To support at home, students can log into a home computer using their Clever log in. From there, you can see what they are working on, see how many lessons they've passed, and encourage them to keep working hard to grow their Math brains.

CAST Food Drive was a HUGE success!
934 Food Items Donated
Ross students brought almost 1,000 canned or boxed food items the week before break! Way to go, Ross families, and special thanks to CAST and the staff members at Ross who helped them collect and count all the food.

Food was donated to the Ross Community Pantry for families to come and get what they need.

AVID definition: moving up through your own hard work
At Ross, we believe that all students can learn at high levels!
Ross is pretty special! We are an AVID Nationwide Demonstration School, one of only a few in the nation.

What does it mean to be an AVID school? As an AVID school, we believe that all students can be prepared for their next level of learning. AVID stands for Advancement via Individual Determination, which means we support students in moving up through their own hard work. We believe that every student can learn at high levels (grade level or higher) and we use all kinds of strategies to help students become their best learning selves and be prepared for their future--middle school and beyond!

Cell Phones and Smart Watches
ross is a learning zone
Ross is a Learning Zone!
Ross is a learning zone. We want to have uninterrupted instruction time and we want kids to be able to play with each other.

For that reason, we have any students with cell phones leave them in their backpacks during the school day (except for medical uses). Smart watches can be used as watches or tools (example: the calculator function), but not as a cell phone (example: texting).

Please help us protect instruction and social interaction time for our Rossome kids!

Attendance Matters
Attendance Matters
In order to learn best, students need to be here for instruction. Thanks so much for helping us get to 94% attendance this week.

See the graphic below for details about how absences add up to so much missed instruction over time.

We want each student to be massively successful and ready for their futures. We love them!
