Superintendent

Kuna Superintendent Marcus Myers

Dear Kuna Community,

It is an honor to introduce myself to you as your new Superintendent. Joining the Kuna School District is a true privilege, and I am incredibly excited to partner with our families, staff, and community members to support the success of all our students.

I operate under a deeply held core belief: education saves lives. Because the stakes are so high for our youth, I am driven by a commitment to continuous improvement. My goal as your leader is to remove barriers to learning, foster deep collaborative partnerships, and ensure every single student in Kuna has the tools, support, and encouragement they need to thrive.

While I am new to this specific role in Kuna, my heart and my career have long been dedicated to Idaho public education. Over the past two decades, I have had the privilege of serving students and families at every level of the system:

  • In the Classroom & Schools: I began my journey as an elementary school teacher, later serving as a school principal and a Region Director supervising multiple schools.

  • In District Leadership: Most recently, I served as the Chief Academic Officer of Student Success for the West Ada School District, overseeing critical support systems across 58 schools and nearly 40,000 students. Prior to that, I was the Chief Academic Officer of Teaching and Learning, directing curriculum, instruction, and continuous improvement initiatives.

My leadership is backed by a solid educational foundation, including a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Boise State University, a Master’s in Educational Leadership, and an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree with a Superintendent Endorsement from the University of Idaho.

While I have led large-scale educational systems, my heart has always belonged to close-knit communities. Raised in a small town, I deeply appreciate the rich traditions, unique values, and immense community pride that define Kuna. I am incredibly proud to not just lead here, but to be a member a community that so fiercely supports its schools and its children.

Outside of my professional life, I am the proud parent of four children and the husband of a school counselor. When I am not at a school event, you can usually find me out on a golf course, bowling lanes, cooking meals, and enjoying the great outdoors, frequently spending time with family and friends.

I am eager to meet you, listen to your hopes for our schools, and work together to build an even brighter future for Kuna’s youth. Please feel free to reach out, say hello, or introduce yourself when you see me out in the community.

With greatest appreciation and excitement for our future together,

Marcus Myers, Kuna School District
