Thank you to everyone that helped with our fundraiser! We were able to raise just about $300 to go towards trimester awards to celebrate our students.

Reminders

Behaviors

As holiday excitement kicks off, we are asking families to help us prevent an uptick in undesired behaviors. Please review student expectations and behaviors with your child. We appreciate all of our families and your support.

Drop Off/Pick Up

Parents please make sure you are using the drop off lanes and pick up lanes when dropping off or picking up your students. We have had many concerns reported for safety reason. Please help us with using the correct lanes and making sure drop offs and pick ups are quick as possible so we can ensure our students, staff, and families remain safe.

Getting a student early? Need to change how they get home?

Please call the office at least an hour ahead of time if you are picking up your student or changing how they are getting home. This ensures that we have them ready and/or can get the message to them in time.

Bus Stops and Lines

Parents please make sure your students are dressed warm for the bus stops in the morning and afterschool. It is cold in the mornings and starting to get colder in the afternoons. Please review expectations with your students about waiting in line at the bus stops and staying out of neighbors yards. Also when students are waiting in line after school, please help remind them they should be waiting on the grass and not the sidewalk. Thank you for your support with this.

The Weather is Changing

The weather is starting to cool down. Remember students are outside in the morning until the bell rings, at lunch, and after school. Please remind your students to dress appropriately.

Also please remember the expectations when it comes to clothing:

STUDENT APPEARANCE

All attire should be modest and appropriate for students. Any top with straps, such as tank tops, muscle shirts, and sundresses, will need to be modestly covered. Any form of dress or hairstyle that is contrary to good hygiene or disruptive in appearance and detrimental to the purpose or conduct of the school will not be permitted. Failure to abide by the following rules may constitute a cause for disciplinary action:

All students will be fully clothed, clean and well groomed.
All students will wear footwear.
There will be no bare backs or midriffs.
Gang-related attire is unacceptable while at school, at school activities, or on school grounds.
Students will not be permitted to wear pants below the waistline or wear caps, bandannas, or any other item associated with gang-related behavior.
Clothing advertising alcoholic beverages or tobacco, or displaying inappropriate words, designs or comments should not be worn.
Shorts, skirts and dresses cannot be less than fingertip length (the longest finger with shoulders relaxed and arms/hands straight down at the side. Shoulders must be covered.
Low-cut shirts, tank tops, spaghetti straps, tube tops, halter tops, crop tops, bare midriffs, and shirts with no sleeves. Undergarments may NOT be visible through clothing.

Any student in violation of the district dress code will be required to change the article of clothing. This may result in call home to bring appropriate clothing.

Upcoming Events

Jacket Swap

Our CAST students are busy this year with student led community service projects. These girls, Ruby, Jenny and Maisy, want to give back to their community while helping others and keeping clean, reusable winter gear out of the landfills. Please donate your clean and reusable winter weather gear (jackets, snow pants, boots, etc) at any of the Kuna School District Elementary Schools from October 30-November 8. Then come back to Reed Elementary on November 13, from 4-7 to choose items that fit your children's needs this winter. We want to thank Latte Da and Les Schwab for placing donation bins in their businesses to help collect donations. Also thank you to Astegos for your donation for our coat drive!

Christmas Fiesta

We will have our Dual Language Christmas Fiesta on Saturday, December 7th, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. To make this event successful, we are in need of donated items. You can sign up by clicking on the link below.
