CAST Compassion Activities
Our new CAST team will be building a Compassion tree for the school, where students can compliment other students for the kind things they do for each other with leaves on the tree.

The class with the most leaves submitted will win a party with CAST and Mrs. Tripp!

4th Grade Lunch Clubs Start Monday!
Our first Lunch Clubs officially start on Monday--Sewing Club on Monday sponsored by 4th grader Grace G.

Upcoming clubs include Art and Craft Club sponsored by Carlie M., Craft and Comic Club sponsored by Zach S. and Marylah M., and Friendship Bracelet Club sponsored by Addy M.

Huge thanks to our parent volunteers that make all this happen!

Lunch Clubs are choice activities that students put together that any classmate can join freely during lunch recess. These are free activities, run by students and parent volunteers, that give students a chance to experience different things at recess. Running a Lunch Club gives 4th graders valuable leadership experience and add to the fun and friendship on campus for all students.

AVID definition: moving up through your own hard work
At Ross, we believe that all students can learn at high levels!
Ross is pretty special! We are an AVID Nationwide Demonstration School, one of only a few in the nation.

What does it mean to be an AVID school? As an AVID school, we believe that all students can be prepared for their next level of learning. AVID stands for Advancement via Individual Determination, which means we support students in moving up through their own hard work. We believe that every student can learn at high levels (grade level or higher) and we use all kinds of strategies to help students become their best learning selves and be prepared for their future--middle school and beyond!

Cell Phones and Smart Watches
ross is a learning zone
Ross is a Learning Zone!
Ross is a learning zone. We want to have uninterrupted instruction time and we want kids to be able to play with each other.

For that reason, we have any students with cell phones leave them in their backpacks during the school day (except for medical uses). Smart watches can be used as watches or tools (example: the calculator function), but not as a cell phone (example: texting).

Please help us protect instruction and social interaction time for our Rossome kids!

Attendance Matters
Attendance Matters
In order to learn best, students need to be here for instruction. Thanks so much for helping us get to 94% attendance this week.

See the graphic below for details about how absences add up to so much missed instruction over time.

We want each student to be massively successful and ready for their futures. We love them!
