Kuna families!

I want to thank our school board members who are going above and beyond to help inform our community about the Nov. 5 supplemental levy.

Trustees Kyrsti Bruce and Michael Thornton met with parents and community members on a levy task force last week. It was exciting to see an energized group eager to help inform. The group will meet again 6 p.m. Oct. 1 at Swan Falls High School.

If you are interested in getting involved please email Assistant Superintendent Jason Reddy at jjreddy@kunaschools.org.

Middle school students to participate in first ever Youth Fentanyl Summit Tuesday
Students from 19 Kuna, Boise, and West Ada school district middle schools will participate in this special one day event on Tuesday, September 24th.

The first ever Youth Fentanyl Summit was a hope to get our students involved in positive drug prevention messaging to their peers. The students from 19 middle schools will come away from the summit with creative ideas on building drug free messages peer to peer and parents. We are excited about our Kuna middle school students attending the summit and empowering them to make a much bigger impact in the Kuna School District. The students will work on some awesome plans for Red Ribbon Week activities happening Oct. 28-31.

It is sponsored by the participating school districts, U.S. Department of Justice, the United States Attorney’s Office, Drug Enforcement Agency, Drug Free Idaho, The City of Kuna, St. Alphonsus Medical Center, and Idaho Digital Learning Academy.

In addition to the presentations for the day, U.S. Attorney Josh Hurwit and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Debbie Critchfield, students will stop by and share a few remarks with the kids. State Superintendent Critchfield will also do a T-shirt Tuesday with our Kuna School District middle school students.

We also want to get our parents involved in helping us do a Chalk the Walk during Red Ribbon Week at every school. If you love writing with chalk on the sidewalks please let me know! We would love to have as many parents as possible help with this during Red Ribbon Week.
